Amen to that, blondie. I remember the CO not only visiting our cong, but scheduling an all-day service day on Saturday, during opening week of deer season. A couple of the elders, who were diehard hunters, felt that it was deliberate, to "test" them, and rebelled against it.
as a kid i got bullied a lot.
i was taller than all the kids in the class.
i wore funny clothes - usually hand-me-downs from somewhere or just plain ugly.
Years ago when the show All in the Family with Archie Bunker was on TV I hated it. I hated how Archie put everyone down that he didn't like.He was rude and obnoxious and just a big bully. I couldn't see why people thought this was so funny.
It was funny because Archie was the actual butt of the joke. The point was to show the absurdity of what he believed through his rude and obnoxious behavior.
Having said that, I agree with what you're saying. There's far too much name-calling, even on this forum. Calling someone an idiot doesn't invalidate their viewpoint.
it amazes me that the country continues to support the political parties that have invaded our bedroom, wasted our money, and intruded on our freedom.
in other words the voters still vote democrat and republican, when it is those same parties that have gotten us in the mess we're in now.
it seems most of the issues that people have with the political parties boil down to simply limits and intrusions of freedom, whether it's imposed religious views or overtaxation and wastefulness.. my question is why hasn't there been a stronger movement to build a 3rd political party that has a core philosophy of maximum freedom?

after the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.

evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?
I doubt the majority of them are even aware of any dramatic change. They concern themselves only with the idea that the end is close. As long as that idea is continually re-enforced, the actual definition of 'generation' won't even register as a blip on their radar.

Despite what JWs may believe, their religion isn't important enough to the UN for them to go to such lengths to discredit them.
